Nice film. Been to Phnom Penh twice in the last two years. A real feel of an up and coming place. My GF is Cambodian but we are based in Thailand. It seems there are lot of business opportunities in PP. The Chaiya Palace hotel looks lovely - we attended a family wedding nearby in Nov 2022 before it was opened.

Cambodia is developing really fast. It’s constantly changing. It changes a lot since the last time I was there one and a half years ago.

Always blows my mind how much PP has changed. Went there many times between about 2008 and 2018.

Pencil market, mostly clothes and shoes. Working girls favorite place for clothes. Good prices. Plenty of dates.😎

Your videos are better than most things on the telly - which I realise is damning with feint praise but I mean it in a good way. When it comes to the steak pie, that was more of a mince round and you should try that with brown sauce - like HP or Daddies - and it's even better. I'm Scottish we know all about pies

Thanks again for another interesting and informative video, Ryan!! I most enjoy your videos, and ''For Reil'' in Siem Reap. Both channels add ''value''. (I also follow ''Tom Trips Out'') As I mentioned before I lived in PP from late 2000 to early 2018. Even over the last six years, which I've been away, the city appears to be growing in leaps and bounds. It gives me an indication as to what I'll be returning to. I look forward in return there in the Fall of 2025 to retire, after enduring only one more harsh New Brunswick winter. BTW, a former student of mine is the founder and CEO of Tube Coffee. I always knew that she was going to be successful!! ... As for the Hotel Cambodiana, are you aware that when it was built it only had 100 rooms, and only operated as a hotel for one year before Lon Nol turned it into military barracks in 1970 after his coup. It was latter turned into a refugee settlement for 22, 000 forcibly displaced persons from the countryside as a result of US ''secret'' carpet bombings. It was the safest place to be at the time because was controlled by the US-supported government. The swimming pool had to be used as a septic tank. When PP fell to the KR in April1975, there was an estimated 2 million refugees, in addition to the ''official'' city population of between 450, 000 to 500, 00 people. It's my understanding is that PP is now only approaching those same levels now. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, RYAN!!! ...

I love the lentil salad at Muffin Man. Such a great combination of flavours that you don't really get that much in Cambodia. We went to Pencil Market once during covid and a young boy was terrified of us because he thought all foreigners were infected with the virus. He ran away from us and hid behind some dresses. I swear it had nothing to do with Jeremy's beard. For once.

In America. ATM open 24/7 like that and quiet like that, the place will get robbed and the machines will be gone at no time and the place will be vandalized. Here in America there are lots of crimes.

I am currently in PP . A little surprised at the cost of food at both restaurants and grocery.
