The first time I used the products, I was heavy handed as I usually am with my eco styler. I had a lot of flakes. I watched her video, and took heed of her advice to not use a lot. This time, I have no flakes. Ultimately speaking...LIGHT ON THE GEL! Lawd knows... I used the primer and potion, then less than a dime size amount of gel in each quadrant of my hair.

I had good shine, volume and hold. I don't feel like my hair is very moisturized to the touch. I am chilling on day 4 hair. It still looks good, and I'm getting compliments, but it's cool out and the temp. Is dropping so I'm going to do another wash and go and try using one of the DIY shea butter mixtures I have.

Bottom line...anyone experiencing flaking, try using less product. I personally think we are (specifically I am) used to being heavy handed with the product to weigh our hair down. To each her own.

Some hair textures just need a tacky gel not a runny gel. If you put a gel on your hair and it does nothing then you feel the need to add more gel which causes flakes. I don't know why I thought this gel would be different. Love the pudding and potion as a base though

I tried the co wash, primer, potion, and pudding together and I LOVE the results! I'm not a gel person but I keep seeing complaints about flaking whenever someone uses it. Overall I think you were a little heavy handed with the products - a little of this stuff definitely goes a long way.

Definitely a learning curve. The products are so concentrated. The first time I used it, I tried to go light handed, I used the pudding and gel together and had minimal flakes, but I still think I used too much gel because it feels so light. The second time I just used the pudding and had no flakes. I'm going to try the gel by itself next to see what happens. There is more hold once it dries than you'd think when you apply them. I'm in love with the clarifier and the cowash. The mask was meh for me. I also like the pudding. It gives me gorgeous volume. It's different. 🤷🏾‍♀️ I don't get the primer or potion, so I am going to try those to play with while the sale continues through October. The scent is strong but I like it. Overall I think it's working well for my hair 👍🏿 I can say when I did the second wash, I had less shedding like my hair was strengthened and the cowash detangled my hair very quickly.

Your hair is beautiful! The flakes are from the gel. You used too much gel. Mo has a video on how to apply the products.

Your hair is beautiful. Your hair is flaking because you used the gel and the pudding together. I think you should try using the pudding with the Prime Leave-In. Or even try another leave in like Kinky Curly... The pudding and the gel doesn't mix. Don't give up on the products. They are wonderful.

That flaking is the product. All the reviews say it and I'm experiencing it myself on day 2 hair. It's a shame because Mo is the one who taught us how to check for products that don't work together. I was rooting for her and am glad to support but I won't buy more until she fixes that.

I believe her pudding wasn't meant to go under the gel. It's either the pudding or gel as the styler. The pudding should be used on top of the primer or another leave in.

Looks so good on day 2 💜 I do see the ashy cast and flakes you pointed out..I wodnt want that or the dry feel...I have been seen reviews with the flakes and it seems to be coming from the pudding. One reviewer saw small clumps in her hands after applying it to her hair... I want to try and the 4 for 20 sale with a free tote bag is going. ...but eeek!

Watch the new demo on MoKnowsHair. You may need to use less product. Looks like you detangled and kept a spray bottle on hand. Maybe her video will help.

I tried combos 3 different times. Eventually I had to eliminate the gel.

I just tried these products!! I love the application and my curls was on point! I used the primer, potion and gel and I was snowing!! Lol!! Overall I like the products it’s just the flakes!! Maybe I was too heavy handed 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

the pudding probably doesn’t go well with the gel. try doing a test on your hand with them to see.
