See below for Table of Contents complete with time stamps.

Several people have asked how I make the changes or do basic edits on a map. I think this is a very useful skill that most anyone can learn. Editing a map that is already well put together is a great way to learn about Giants Editor, so I invite you to watch this tutorial so you can do small changes to your favorite maps.

FAQ:
Q  "I made changes to my map, but they are not showing up in game, why is that?"
A  Check your mods folder for two versions of the same map.  The game loads the zipped version first, and this is often the unchanged version.  I didn't highlight this in my video since I was working out of the downloads folder(sorry for confusion).  It is best to move the original (or backup, zipped copy) to another folder once you unzip a mod to begin working on it.  That way, you never get confused which version is the edited one and what is original.

Q "The map works when unzipped, but not when zipped up".
A Make sure you are zipping the contents of the folder, not the folder itself.

Nice Tutorial! And some good points made in it. Things like "always make sure to move the entire object" wouldn't even come to mind if I made such a video. But its important.

Also.. Make a backup so nothing can happen and just experiment. There is no "wrong" just things to be learned. To all the people thinking about maybe starting with modifying stuff a bit but don't know where to start.. Just get going :D

Thank You once again. This is extremely helpful for map edit noobs just like me. I downloaded the editor and started my edit, it feels so good to be able to modify my play farm. Really appreciated.

I guess it is a steep learning curve but once you get a grasp of it, it becomes easy, before I got the FS bug I used to make maps for Trainz Simulator, which also had a steep learning curve, but slowly and surely I became good at it. Please make some more when you have the time, You could do it as a side line, but please don't jump around, stick to one item at a time.

How do you know when you have got the entire object i.e. object, triggers, hard points.
Edit : forget that, I just looked at the tutorial again and realised that they are separate items, there is a lot of stuff going on here, each time I run the video i find something I missed the time before.
Even though there are different items for one shed i.e. collision points, triggers, is there a way that you can move everything in one go?

Hello! I have an issue deleting some grass in my map. I go to GE and I select foliage layer painting, then I select 1 and 6 under grass section and right click all the grass that is bothering me... I save it and close, and zip the map again into mods folder. Then I open the game and discover that the grass I just deleted is still there! Idk why this is happening. May be it is very simple but not for me since I'm lost here haha. Any help would be much appreciated!
