On November 22, 1963, President J.F. Keneddy was on an election visit to Dallas, Texas That day, J.F. Kennedy and his wife, Jacqueline Kennedy, and Governor John Connaly were in a convertible limousine across Dallas. The president was scheduled to have a working lunch at the Dallas Mall (Trade Mart), where he was to meet with a group of city officials. When the president's limousine arrived at Dealey Square at 12:32 p.m. (local time), a sniper fired several shots in its direction. The president was shot dead in the head, and Texas Gov. John Connaly was seriously injured in the attack.
