MOM'S HEARTBREAK: TEEN SON FOUND COLD, BLUE, DIES FROM ONE FAKE PILL

Jack O'Kelley is a stand-out athlete throughout his youth and into high school where he letters all four years in Lacrosse and football.  He's also a member of the National English Honor Society. 

Thanksgiving morning, Jack's family gets ready to celebrate the holiday. His dad calls Jack to come home from a friend's house. No answer. He calls the family friends where Jack spent the night. The parents invite Jack's father to come over, the boys are still asleep. He drives over and a few minutes later, calls his wife in a panic. Jack is dead.  

An autopsy finds that Jack had overdosed. Mother Angela King thinks her son, Jack O'Kelley, swallowed what he believed was a Xanax pill, not knowing it was counterfeit and contained a deadly amount of Fentanyl.

This is exactly how it is happening. Kid has a headache, friend got some headache/muscle ache pills from a friend or stolen them from an addicted relative, gives them to another kid, & they are gone. I constantly tell my 17year old athlete to not ask anyone for even a Tylenol.

My niece was murdered by her "husband" and he made her a pill with fentanyl in it. She died at 33 leaving two small children behind. Her disabled mom is now raising them. The so called husband was convicted of murder and only spent 3 yrs in prison . No one should die that way and it's unjust for someone who did this only get 3 yrs of killing someone. My prayers go with this family may God comfort and strengthen you. May justice be done for your son.

I'm 69, my Dad grew up during the depression in NY City. He saw really bad things. He said to me "if you ever use drugs, I'll kill you as that is a better way to die than by drugs". Kept me scared and straight. I drank and then found that I couldn't do that either. Escaping emotions, situations are not taught in our society.

Thanks, Nancy! One thing that wasn’t touched on in this video that I think is very important info to know, is that Narcan is an effective antagonist to opiate overdoses, but that a person in the midst of an overdose may require multiple repeat doses of Narcan. Always call EMS for patients who overdose, because chances are they will require emergency care, even if their respiratory drive comes back. I’m an EMT and it’s always a concern that the opiates will outlast the Narcan, and that the patients will go back into respiratory failure!

What a handsome young man 😢 so sad. Ive lost quite a few ppl family & friends to this.. but this is a baby! Yes a baby in my eyes! My heart breaks for his family. 😢 🙏
