Maya, to answer your question,
Equation 1 is 2x-3y=1
Equation 2 is 5x+9y=19
To get the x's the same multiply Eq1 by 5, and Eq2 by 2. We get
Equation 1 as 10x-15y=5
Equation 2 as 10x+18y=38 We then take Eq1 from Eq2 to get:
18y - (-15y) = 38 - 5
33y = 33
y = 1
Substitute y = 1 into equation 1 to get
2x - 3 = 1
2x = 4
x = 2

Why skip the ELIMINATION part where you MULTIPLY by '-1' please (as you did in all other videos?). This has really thrown me now as I had just managed to understand the original applied method! Thanks.
