This Martyn Ashton's Figure Of Eight MTB Challenge! This can be done anywhere and is great fun with your mates. Whether you're out on the trails or even in a car park this a great Mountain Bike skills challenge!

This a challenge that Martyn used back in his riding days. Simply get two markers and start riding in your figure of eight. Try to get 3 pedal strokes in between each axis and add some obstacles to make things harder.

Absolutely LOVING these videos with Martyn out of the shed. Martyn is very entertaining and his enthusiasm is infectious. Plus he commands great respect, yet can still be self-deprecating. "Back in antiquity when I used to ride..." LOL. He really brings out the best in the other presenters, showcasing his personality and natural delivery and freeing them to showcase their incredible skills and talents on the bikes.

Ultimate figure 8 cor drill is not having to do a full pedal stroke (360) but just half of it at most (180), just to allow switching of outside/inside foot. The momentum will be generated by pumping terrain.

Martyn is a legend! Getting these lads working hard hehe. Has Martyn considered trying one of those arm peddled bikes? Loved his back on the bike vid - mega respect

I do this in my living room while the TV is on. It really helps with my slow speed balance. I found figure 8s because circles make me dizzy.
