Thai King makes rare public comments after months of pro-democracy protests

Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn has made his first public comments after months of demonstrations. He and Queen Suthida met with thousands of supporters outside the Grand Palace and gave a rare interview to foreign media. The remarks are unprecedented for Thais not used to seeing the King speak to the media. Dr Nattavud Pimpa, associate professor in international management at Mahidol University, shared about the significance of the comments.
