I have a what I believe is a SP-200-SX / BC-794-B. The coverage of mine matches this model (1250KHz-40MHz)
The front I.D. plate is missing. The other difference is I can see the full wheel dial of both the main tunning and bandspread side with the bandspread side having the Amateur Bands printed on the dial. All of the other units in this model range all have a small window of view for the dial frequency. I have been trying to identified it for a few years.
It looks just like a SP-200-SX/BC-794B. The color of the front panel is a sky blue which I have never seen before and don't know if it might have been painted however it looks old so if it was it would have been done a long time ago.
A mod was done to this receiver. It looks like one of the audio output tubes was removed and a internal supply built.
I would be happy to email some pictures if it would help identifiy it. It works great (after I replaced a cap in the AVC circuit),
as well as a few others.. and I love the audio but I wish it covered the full broadcast band. I was wondering if any switchable
mods to that model receiver might have been done to for the local oscillator to tune lower. My first thoughts where to sub
the tube LO with a remote LO and inject it in the same place. Start off with a signal generator to sub for the LO to see if the
concept would work. What's your thoughts and would you know of any forums on this subject?
Thanks, Ken

I have a Hammarlund SP-200 that I acquired last year. It works great, but it's a little out of alignment. I hope to tackle that soon.

Nobel prizes should cover ALL Hammarlund comm receiver designs. Designers were blessed with very special talents, as were the builders at the factory. Congratulations for owning this piece of equipment!
