Had the county inspector come by several times and asked to look at my shop. I said NO. He looked bewildered, but just left and I never saw him again. Just like the police, if you don't consent they can't do anything. On another note you need to find a better electrician. Why? because he knows nothing about motor control. You need what's called a VFD (variable frequency drive). They make some for single phase motors, but they are easier to wire to a 3 phase motors. Instead of wasting your money on rebuilding your single phase motor you could have bought a new 3 phase motor and hooked a VFD to it and been good to go.

I work for a company that does very similar inspections to what you been going through…. I can tell you 100% someone wants you out of business. Someone wants you to spend so much money to be compliant your forced to close or move locations. Period!

Everything that was brought up to by the inspections is correct…..documentation and labels on equipment is everything…it’s for your safety and for the safety of those who respond to a fire.
