The best way to save money is to learn to use recording software yourself. Sure, the software costs and it takes time, but it can really pay off.

So, I have some advice for bands who can't afford to get the van or don't drive. Me and my old band were playing in London (And for distance values I live in Norfolk) and we bused and undergrounded our way to the venue (which took a number of hours going from one station to the other) carrying all of our gear which if you're starting out and you have a couple of support slots that's always an option. And singers don't carry anything anyway so you can give them some stuff :) But this only really works for support gigs were cabs and house kit is provided (apart from heads cause.. everyone loves carrying their own head) Hope this helps someone :)

When is a band ready to gig, and then ready to tour. How much prep needs to go into a band before they play their first gig, and following from that, before their first tour?

As an estimated number, how much money should have in order to go on tour? Obviously you don't tour right away, it's far too expensive. So what should the band's tour budget look like? Just an estimated amount.

Our first gig was about $20 bucks, and we made $0

You guys work in a label but are you also trying to become signed musicians? You are also in bands and I'm just wondering do you do that on the side as a hobby or is it hopefully going to be your career?
