Runcam / Caddx FPV Camera Comparison

Testing out some FPV cameras for rockets - was hoping the Caddx Loris would look nicer, still wish a camera of this size could do good looking 4k 60fps. Taking apart a GoPro might be the next best option lol

I really like the dynamic range and the detail of the first shot, from the RunCam Split 4 4K.

It also seemed to deal way better with the lens flare, or is that just due to different sun angles?

You might want to look into the RunCam Thumb. It's not an FPV though. You can decase it, if you want it to to be a little smaller.

Another one that might be worth comparing is the new DJI O3 air unit that just came out, it has onboard recording though it's a bit more expensive.

Is the jelly-wobble just an artefact of a small but wide lens? Cheaper optics? I’m trying to work out why phone cameras don’t seem to do this as much, despite being similar sizes… is it just a case of costing more than it makes sense to strap to the side of a model rocket?

Have you tried the new Runcam Thumb Pro? I really like it, though the form factor is a bit odd for rockets.

Caddx Loris looks quite overexposed and it didn't auto correct when you panned to the wall on the left.

Good comparison. runcam split 4 is better than others. and excellent. Because video quality looks realistic like a mirror. Others are blur, colors not realistic, may not high definition cams.
