I have started a fresh journalling Bible this year book along and doing Bible in a year book and I’m now on week 18 and my Bible is getting fuller and more colourful . I’ve just enjoyed so much spending time more with God and this is my first time going right through the Bible.

I hoard Bibles. All different translations and covers, some note-taking, some study Bibles…now I’m overwhelmed with choices so when I sit down to read I feel paralyzed. I have a decent completion of my note-taking Bible but I’ve shelved that as I came to realize I was caring more about finishing up a chapter to “complete” it than to spend time with God. Or I was feeling prideful of people commenting how pretty my Bible was or feeling super holy or something. Basically my motives were totally wrong. I got a nice personal size, large print, buffalo leather NIV that I’m currently using because it’s the translation my church uses and I don’t like to use a different translations during sermons as it’s distracting. I like my Life Application Bible but it’s kind of beefy to be carrying around as my “every day” Bible. I realize how ridiculous this “problem” is considering there are Chinese Christians literally risking their lives just for a page or two of scripture and feverishly working to memorize it so they don’t risk imprisonment if they’re caught with it. We really are so very blessed here in the states with the multitude of choices.

Once I finished my first journaling Bible with the 2 inch margins for notes and art I started buying interleaved Bibles so I had a blank page between each page of scripture. I have done art journaling in 6 of those Bibles now using stickers, washi, ephemera, watercolors, tip-ins, etc. Moving on to the next Bible is always hard, but also a fresh start. I keep them all on my bookcase to look through and will pass them on to other loved ones at some point. Very inspiring video - thank you Mentor Mom.

Great video! That Bible is beautiful and I never thought to insert pages for sermon notes. I hadn't been using my physical Bible for a while and just got back into it so these were some nice tips to implement. I also recently purchased a NIV Study Bible but the focus is cultural backgrounds.

Wow! You have inspired me to take my Bible study to a new level! I bought my Bible in 1996, but more recently have been using the Bible app. I think I'm going to pull out my paper copy and incorporate some of these ideas. I've always written and drawn in my Bible, but now I have a bunch of new ideas! Thank you for sharing this, and I hope you love your new one!
