Well, we'll walk through the steps necessary for downloading tarballs and installing packages via the AUR. We'll even set up yaourt, although it is HIGHLY recommended that you learn how to manually handle and manage tarballs before using such an advanced package manager.

With this information, you should have access to anything and everything Arch has to offer!

This helped. I know it's not big but I got tired to manually installing those packages. I will use caution as advised. I have to admit ArchLinux is the best I have used so far aside from Gentoo.... Gentoo was way to much work to keep this level dependency control for my level of understanding aside from the fact that most of what I use here is pre-compiled. When I finish getting everything I want I will make another backup with "redo backup" and life will be great in linux land.

Tarballs sounds like 3 lines of coke, 1 ounce of marijuana, and a hit of acid. Or maybe that's just me.

When you go to update your system, do you use 'pacman -Syu' or 'yaourt -Syua'? I read somewhere that it is better to use pacman and then update your AUR packages manually (reason I don't know). Thanks.
