This sounds to me how it would feel to find and explore an abandoned alienic city or temple, which had sometime been residence for an insanely populated and very colourful otherworldly civilization, and now it is only place for dust, nostalgia, confusion, despair, a grayish dusty and rusty ambience all around the place, with no colours making a very noticeable difference now, where there is absolutely no life, nothing, not even a single small insect or alienic spiders or cockroaches, no life besides _you, and your thoughts_
