PM Modi's speech at launch of development initiatives in Mehsana, Gujarat

PM Modi, during his address in Mehsana, Gujarat, recounted the days when the whole North Gujarat was facing an acute shortage of potable water and lacked irrigation facilities. He also spoke about how ground water had degraded and tube wells had gone ineffective. PM Modi also spoke about how the then government of Gujarat under his leadership decided to change the situation and the strengthening of connectivity in the region. Better infrastructure for water supply, irrigation and industrialisation has brought a sea of changes to the lives of the people of North Gujarat. He further talks about the success of the Sujalam-Sufalam scheme which has led to a multi-fold increase in the irrigated land mass of the region, bringing prosperity for the farmers and people as North Gujarat emerges as a hub of food processing.
