I'm sorry it didn't work out yet for Derrick, but it's probably a blessing in disguise for him. If he didn't go through with trying to help you, he might have had issues later on down the road and he wouldn't have known about it.

Thanks for this update. I just found it. You were on my mind...I had seen your video when you initially shared your health update. Will be praying for you. I had a kidney transplant 16 years ago today. I had a living donor and it is the most incredible sacrificial gift a person can give. It's a process that will not happen on your timetable. When my kidneys failed, it was from a rare autoimmune disease, and it happened quickly. It was a crash that almost finished me off. I wanted it all 'over' NOW! That did not happen. You pick yourself up and keep your days 'tight'. One day at a time. We have no guarantee of tomorrow. And when the time was right, the Lord opened that door, and as quickly as it got bad, it got good. Getting a transplant is another HUGE learning curve, but so worth it. Some choose to not take that step. I was glad I was able to do so. I am forever grateful to my donor. Our paths don't cross anymore, by her choice, but I pray for her every day and ask the Lord to bless her for the gift she was willing to give. Hang in there. God's got a plan. May He continue to bless you and keep you safe during this season of your life. A new season awaits, and it will be good. There will be new challenges, but again, so worth it. I never take this kidney for granted and do my best to be a good steward of this gift. It was, and still is, very humbling. When you get back something you've lost, you are never the same, and you never look at things the same again. A new level of gratitude grows out of hardship. All the best to you. God bless.

I'm sitting here crying. Found your channel right when you found this out. I had to look my dad in his eyes knowing he would die days after i traveled to see him. Terminal heart issues and this hits hard. Hopefully my 7yr old son won't have to feel this until he's ready. God bless you my stranger friend in this world.

You are an amazing person, it's so easy to see the good in your heart and soul, and the way you open them up to share with so many people.

Do me a favor Bob....stop watching the sunsets and start watching the sunrise every morning. When the sunrises it's the beginning of a new day, anything can happen. I love sunsets too but they mark the end of another day. Keep your strength and positive attitude, for tomorrow is a new day. Peace and love brother.

I had a transplant in 2018, I know you are struggling. The dialysis, weakness, uncertainty. A wonderful person decided to donate a kidney to me, it was an unconditional act of love that I will never forget. That said, you need to get listed on the transplant list every where you can. A cadaver kidney will come your way, it just takes a little time. Stay strong and don't give up.
