A bartender or server in southern US states makes usd 2.13 per hour, plus whatever he makes from tips, then will have to pay tax on top of it. Google minimum wage for tipped employees in TN, GA, SC, NC, KY, TX, LA, MS, AL, etc the usual suspects.

Yes this is true not only that it’s easier to get a minimum wage job in western countries than there as there’s a lot more competition. I’ve seen how people live in south east Asia and you get westerners complaining about their salaries.

There is poor people in western countries but in the vast majority of cases in the west if you are poor it’s your fault you are poor. My definition of poor is not having enough to eat or can’t afford to put your heating on. Not that you can’t afford an IPhone or a car you need to downsize from an apartment to a spare room. Or you have made poor life choices and can’t afford to retire as you don’t own a home.

Retire in Vietnam, it's cheap to live there, you can own a condo but not land; Vietnam doesn't have retirement visas so u have to make visa runs every 3 months; leave to go thailand or elsewhere to renew and return every 3 months is too much;
