The matter of the fact that when you give support to the top of pyramid neglecting people at bottom then very serious chaotic situation occurs
When corporates are given tax rebates to flourish and prosper and common man don't have money to spend then markets floods with products with no buyers
Now if poor people have money then either they will spend on essential commodities or save
One of major benefits of giving money directly in hands of poor is they spend it locally hence creating robust economic cycle within its community and become self sustained
Now disadvantages of giving money to the top of pyramid and hoping it will bypass benefits to poor is that till the money reaches in hand's of poor until then the purchasing power of money decreases significantly due inflation so poor barely gets benefited
