As a Dutch food historian ( yes that is my occupation) I am always baffled that people bash Dutch food for being bad and uninspired while these days we are a big melting pot of all kinds of cuisines like New York is too. But in New York that’s innovative, and here it’s suddenly because Dutch food is supposedly bad and boring.
Dutch people don't know their food heritage well, and let themselves down by bashing it further. It’s a shame. Most Dutch people cannot name more than herrings, kroketten and poffertjes/ stroopwafels but there truly is much more. I am writing a book for internationals about Dutch food, so in due time I will explain more. For now I just recommend looking beyond the surface.

Thic carmel waflle you must put above a cup of hot tea. Steam wich will come out of tea will make it softer and more flavourful

When I tried those street foods in the netherlands, I think by far my most favorite is Kibbeling. Extremely tasty, fluffy, and the sauce elevates it to the next level.

Harring pretty good as well but I am biased with raw fish.

However, that's about it. Other street foods unfortunately did fit my taste preferences. :/
