Arkansas fan here. I’m old school when it comes to all these “celebrations” that we see in the NFL and now college. Don’t care for them. The very best comment I have heard a coach ever say about the “celebrating” — Coach Bum Phillips of the Houston Oilers told the team - “Act like you been there before”. And I would add : Otherwise ya look like a rookie. Earl Campbell would rumble into the end zone with a linebacker or two hanging off him and he would just hand the ball to the ref and trot back to the bench after a score. Didn’t say or do anything on the way to the bench. To me that’s the best in-your-face reaction a player could ever make. Earl expected to score and yes he hit pay dirt a lot. He’d been there before and certainly acted like it. That’s boss.

Well, he’s right. I believe Gundy himself did a lot of growing up at one time, even as a coach. It’s refreshing to hear him say what he did, especially at the end. Why throw negativity on all those positives?!
