you still forget that old dead hard ignored and put to shame a lot of killer s power, but the main thing was the distance to get to a pallet or window further extending a chase.

You must be dellusional. Old dead hard was a press to get infinite value perk. It could grant distance, let you dodge things like trappers traps and beside that it still had the functionality of the new dead hard. The new dead hard grants more value, but its a lot harder to get thst value.

Old DH also had a .5 second time of invincibility though. Also you could use it for distance and for dodging bear traps, doctor shocks, etc. I prefer the new DH because its 100x better than old DH for dodging hits but old DH is more versatile.

Watched 20 seconds in, and you made it clear you didn't understand old DH's purpose & strength.

Old dead hard's strength was to give you distance you otherwise wouldn't have mid-chase to extend a loop, whether it be by allowing you to make a window or pallet.

New dead hard's strength is in it's reward though, as a successful use gives you distance to make it to an entirely new loop. And when used well, can be used to keep pallets up that you otherwise would've dropped.

I think it's clear old dead hard was stronger, but new dead hard feels more rewarding imo.

I disagree, old DH and new DH could both be used to dodge a hit with the new one slightly easier to do so. What the new DH can't do however is be used for free distance, you have to get hit first and even then it's not bad cus the window is smaller. You can't reset a loop, you can't reach places that you wouldn't have otherwise, you can't extend a loop, you can't avoid killers' powers etc
On top of all that, the counter is the same - just wait it out, except with the new one it's more worth it since dodging a hit is the only use it has now

Unfortunately old DH purpose wasn't to "avoid hit" but to extend the chase having the guaranteed dash to the loop.

If you've used DH for purpose of avoiding M1s you weren't using it right.

New DH is still alright in the situations where the killer is forced to lunge for M1 (last sec window vault, pallet predrop) so instead of doing these you press EEEE and it works most of the time and i say *most* because 0.5 is hella lag sensitive.

Idk if it's a console thing but I can't use new dead hard when I see the killer lunge animation. It doesn't activate before hit validation even though I did click the button on my end before going down. I have to pre amptively press the button when I assume the killer is going to lunge which makes it easier for the killer to wait it out. Old DH didn't work like this which is weird to why this version does to get the BT

It’s definitely the opposite. The new dead hard is harder to pull off and can’t be used for distance or trap dodging anymore. But when you do pull off a dead hard you get way more distance. I love the new version as it’s more rewarding for skilled timing

I also think though that old dead hard was pretty easy to get value out of, mostly because of the distance you could secure with it to get to another pallet or window, which often could be almost the same as getting a free health state (in terms of chase extending)

In a lot of ways the new dead hard is less versatile and strictly is used for taking hits, but the fact that now it counts as a blade wipe and also gives a speed boost means that using it to bait out a hit (the least consistent way to use the perk) is stronger than before, but in all other regards it’s just objectively worse

Well... here are some counterpoints, btw I am at 0:00 of the video when making this comment:

1. Legion's ability now after several hits grants 1 downing when hitting someone. old dead hard disabled his ability as he "missed" with it.
2. If a killer whiffed next to you, it was easier to get away, now if blight charges at you, MAKES A BAD ATTACK and whiff, you will be slowed, then probably get hit, not getting the boost.
3. didn't give you mending+ a hit to stbfl, remember me, etc.
4. Could dodge doctor's spark, trapper's traps, deathslinger's shot(!), twin's brother to get him kicked in da face, trickster's shots, nemesis's tentacle hent...., cenobite's ability, artist's damaging crows.
5. Lasted longer than 0.5s

On the other hand as a person who plays m1 killers, yes, this new dead hard is sorta irritating, so much that I take pig and just stalk people with rbt on their heads until they ded. for killers like deathslinger this is a dream come true.

Here are the positives for survivors:
1. You can actually get bonuses, like mettle of man from it.(which is a broken combination from experience especially with breakout + styptic agent combo))
2. getting hit gives bigger boost.

this guy doesn't know what hes talking about. old dead hard made you immune to damage and gave you distance for half a second, new dead hard only makes you immune to damage for half a second but is more rewarding if you can turn what would have normally been a hit into a vastly extended since you read the killer correctly, with old dead hard there was no reading the killer only judging whether or not the extra distance dead hard gave you would guarantee an extra loop at a pallet and was quite uncounterable. the counterplay to new dead is what the counter play to old dead hard was, waiting out hits

if you get unhooked and get hit once, you get in the wounded state. if you dead hard while in wounded you still get

When going for dead hard mind games and fakes, the old one is way better as the killers swing will be easier to predict (when you are close to a window or pallet) as the survivor can use it for distance to reach it they would have to stop it ASAP. New dead hard does not have this, so faking dead hard will work a lot less which is one of the largest ways DH is used

Old dead hard could make Trappers traps obsolete at for at least 1 loop so idk as rare a trapper is / was I'd still say old DH was stronger. I preferred it but I also really like current DH as it takes a little more thinking on when to use it to get best value

they should have just added somethig like this. after deadharding you are unable to vault or drop pallets for some time. they made it even better while everyone was asking for nerf but i think new version is better because it depends more on skill and its no longer a goal for every 100hrs players to unlock it like it was before
