Lee Ritenour feat. Eric Tagg - Is It You (lyrics)

Показать описание
4th track from RIT (1981). With vocals by Eric Tagg, this jazzy, smooth-as-silk, yacht rock staple sailed to #15 on the Billboard pop chart and #27 on the soul chart. It also cruised to #15 on the Hot Adult Contemporary chart. Nice sailing, Captain Fingers!
But Tagg's falsetto is so mesmerizing I never really paid much attention to the lyrics—until now. So "is it my imagination" or do they tell a rather spooky, bodice-ripping, romantic tale worthy of an Anne Rice novel? Yeah, probably set somewhere in Romania. It was a dark and stormy night... or a foggy one at any rate. And a drop-dead gorgeous ingenue with nothing better to do than brave a vast forest teeming with vampires and werewolves (that part will have to be in the longer version) slinks around in a dark castle in her frilly Victorian glad rags—gradually shedding them of course—until she finds castle guy and tells him she thinks he's swell. Maybe this was Tagg's fantasy. Or maybe it's just an excuse for me to use more of those great pics I found while making the Steely Dan Gaslighting Abbie video. Either way, cheers!
