🎨 Who am I?
My name is Sotep. My purpose has always been communicating stories through the visual arts. I make videos helping Artists on their journey as they face the challenges that come with being a creative soul in this world.
🎨 My Story:
I was that broke kid obsessed with art all through school and college, But ended up dropping out of college as my Portrait and commission business really took off and have not looked back since! I have been very fortunate and traveled many different countries painting Murals in Australia, Thailand, Barcelona and my home, the UK.

Facts man, I gave a lecture in Beijing a few years back and the main topic I talked about was requiring your value - don`t over-value your work as you will take food from out of other peoples mouth - to get top dollar we have to put in the work and achieve the value that we want to be earning - keyword - EARNING. Unfortunately art is used as a way to earn `lazy money` by some and infact its factory reproduced and non original - know your value, chase that dream otherwise the same will happen with what has happened here - they got priced out by pirates and the value decreases. A true statement is that when a country has developed it will invest in art - before that it will just be playing with art and open to any hackjob harry`s

This was great and I agree with everything said. My art journey began & ended so many times due to finances alone! Passion rose in school, but faded when I “realistically needed” money. After high school I went to uni for graphic design, but I became a carpenter as soon as I graduated to pay back those loans. Money became such a requirement (and time became so scarce) in my young adult life, that I actually had to consider construction & building my “new art medium.” And of course, everyone wanted a new deck or home renovation at bottom dollar to help me “get a little exposure & experience.” 10 years of that broke me creatively & financially. It wasn’t till having kids, slowing down and going back to crayons that I realized…I love & NEED art and pull inspirations from everything in daily life. I’ve also had to take solace in the fact that art (in my life) doesn’t always involve a pencil, and inspirations come from everywhere! This past summer for instance, the garden became my sketchbook. And we went huge!! Been meaning to shoot you some pictures everyday, but it’s been overwhelming & incredible.
