as someone who had a heart attack and was in ICU for 22 days and had almost died. I was alone in the hospital due to the legal next of kin issue. because my loved one wasnt allowed to enquire, see, hear and touch me when I was almost at reaching the light at the end of the tunnel.

Many years ago, I left Singapore, eventually surrendered my citizenship because I felt I don't have the time to wait for the PAP government to give me the civil rights which are justly mine to begin with.

You know, if you're married elsewhere then insist on saying you're married when in Singapore. Doesn't matter if it's same sex married. Insist on being recognised as married. They, the government or whomever is asking, need to accept the legal reality. Apply for married couple HDB. Insist on it. Keep on insisting. That way will lead to policy change.
