Bought a used drz to get back into riding after 45 yrs. Hated it. While I looked at other bikes, and considered the prices and maintenance intervals, and watched review after review, I learned to love it. I put 18000 of its 21000 miles, and hope it lasts another 20.

The Drz400 is extremely versatile... I thought I wanted to get out of single track / hard(er) enduro riding and go to dual-sport, so I sold my KTM XCw and bought a DRz400. I the got the DRz all set up for light ADV riding, after a few months(and lot's of I realized I missed the enduro trails, my riding buds were calling me back and really didn't care for dirt roads. But I was stuck with the DRz... So what was I to do but convert it to enduro use 😉 I have vids on my channel of the transitions I put the bike through and its capabilities. In the end the DRz is extremely capable off-road, with the right setup it handles anything my 2T riding buds do. Yesterday, I changed over to full enduro tires and added IMS Pro pegs, this should bring it up another notch ;)

Love my 2023 DRZ, though I am running a bit more aggressive tread (D606 front and rear). But here in Alaska the paved roads are shit, and tons of dirt roads and trails so the more aggressive tread is useful.

I know I’m in the echo chamber here, but I agree the DRZ is a universally good bike. Excels at nothing other than reliability but still takes us anywhere enjoyably. A D606 on the rear and an MT21 on the front is fantastic for off pavement, and really changes the riding experience.

I've owned both 400sm and 400e.
The new "expected" 2025 model should have efi and 6 speed minimum. I expect abs possibly and a bigger tank.
I hope not too much more to keep price low....

Great bike the only thing i don't like about my DRZ is the brakes suck. So i am going to upgrade my brakes and brake lines.
