Hey, thank you for your insights and you return of experience. I was thinking about bringing one illegally to Kenya-Tanzania with the intent to take few shots of Kilimandjaro.
I usually did it many times (recently in Vietnam-Laos-Cambodge without permit/insurance) and I never got any problems, but seems that these 2 countries are very restrictive and do a little bit more checking of the bags.
I decided I won't take the risk too ! Thanks

I saw a young lady on TikTok that rented the service once she got there (not sure if it was Kenya but definitely the continent). She rented the drone and pilot for 2-hours to video her along the beach. She was able to tell him to stay out the shot and orbit her while she walked and swam along the beach. I've got a few out of the country trips planned and I'll definitely research before I go.

I am from Kenya, and Even for us living here, the drone regulations are not accommodating hobby drone pilots, the only law to distinguish us is that we apply for a hobby license, every drone must be registered even a tiny fpv whoop, (this is where the commercial law overshadowed the hobby sector) and no matter where you are you must pay 15usd for a flight permit to fly your drone that particular day(permit takes a day a least, so u need to apply a day before, ) even if you own a acre farm and away from anyone on large private property, as soon as you takeoff you are in kenyan airspace, must have applied for that permit prior to that flight.even if private video.non commercial.😂😂. there is a hobby drone phobia here, or maybe total ignorance, 😂. we living here and suffering through it daily, 😅.thank you for your review and raising awareness, this will definitely help others. i am kenyan and i wouldn't leave it at the airport. it will not be a straight forward pickup when u leave. they will literally treat that drone as a firearm.u might unfortunately be asked for things which aren't even according to our law.especially foreigners.

Kenya seems like a place that if you cant find the info then they dont want it there. Just went to Croatia with air3 and m4pro and all it took was 60$ in insurance for a month even tho I was there for 12 days and register as a drone pilot and EU license for free for 5 years! It was tough to find how to do it legally and papers to back me up if needed but so worth it. And yes I had lipo bags for the 6 batteries. Almost done with my 107 to fly "anywhere" in the US. Great video Kim!
