As you enter into retirement, would it make good sense to keep a separate asset etf and a bond etf rather than a balanced fund? Then, if the asset market has lost value you can still withdrawal from just bond funds (or laddered gic's) ?
The logic being, not to touch equities when they've lost value.
Of course that's my newbie logic. 😂
