Kenwood Ts480HX, yep, thats right, the 200w powerhouse model (part 1)

I love my ts-480h. With only one power lead it is receive only. You can practice your code as the side tone works but it won’t transmit even at qrp levels. I’ve had mine for several years.and no complaints. It will run on two 20amp power supplies but one of my kenwood power supplies blew as the 480H pushed it too hard. Now running on 2 thirty amp supplies and no issues.

It's an excellent mobile radio, I use it with the wonderful TARHEEL II antenna

TS-480SAT = 100W + ATU
TS-480HX = 200W + no ATU, but you only gain 1/2 s-unit! Not really a “power-house”.
