Learn how to build a Jump Ramp with us! This kicker ramp can be used for MTB and BMX Bikes. Us kids love to jump! But we’re not always able to go to the trails or the bike park. So we’re building a kicker ramp. First, we need to cut out all the pieces of ½ thick plywood and 2x4’s. Measure and mark the lines for cutting. Use a thin PVC pipe and then flex it to form a curve, depending on how steep you want your ramp to be. Next, use a powered jigsaw to cut out the shape of your jump ramp! Then trace it onto another piece of plywood to get them to about the same size. Then, we’re going to use a circular saw to cut the 2x4. The measurements for the 2x4 is 16”. Cut out 6 of these pieces. Then, we use 1.5” Decking screws to assemble. Drilling pilot holes make it easier to screw the pieces together. Place them in the right spots to make your ramp stable! Next, measure the length of the ramp with a T-Square or long flexible ruler and then measure it out on another piece of plywood. Cut it out and it should be 17” wide and however long your ramp is for the top board. Screw it on and then we’ll test it out! The jump ramp is portable. You can take it to neighborhood parking lots, parks, your driveway or backyard. You can practice your jumps on mountain bikes or BMX. This jump ramp is so much fun and does not use a lot of material. You can build a kicker ramp with half a sheet of plywood and 1 piece of 2x4 lumber.
