Here's how residents feel about proposed East Cobb cityhood

Conservative, affluent community members seek autonomy, but skeptics question why.

So proponents say taxes would not go up but how do we know that? How many times have we heard a president say taxes would not go up, and taxes go up?

My biggest objection to what's going on in Cobb county and the surrounding areas is the enormous influx of people into the area, which has brought enormous numbers of cars, bottlenecks, accidents.

Safety is decreased with so many cars on the road. There is no reasonable amount of space between cars driving on the road. People take chances darting in and out because of the heavy traffic.

Apparently the county cannot resist the incoming tax money but all of this puts the citizens at risk and makes the area much less desirable as a place to live and work.

And there are more plans, I have read, for new residents coming into the area. Where, then, is the quality of life?

Keep that ish in Atlanta our crime is low out here and I want to keep it that way. City hood statically isn’t a great thing. My parents picked North Ga for a reason and I stay for the very same. Growing up in NYC is like the A and no one wants to be around crime all day! Clean up the city and actually lock ppl up and make them do real time, enough is enough!

Can they name one actual thing that the county did wrong? One thing they are unhappy with besides being democrat

I live in the poor part of East Cobb, yet I support this move wholeheartedly! Why? This city will have top schools have the best restaurants, desirable shops; rich, smart people will move in, in the end, this city will pull the nearby areas up! I would love to go there to have good dinners, tell my kids to work hard to buy a house there! That is what made America great, the other path is people will move out, the city will run down, then turn the area into another slump!
