A Moon Called MONARCH: The Outer Worlds Lore

The terraformed moon of the gas giant Olympus hosts the first human colony in the Halcyon System, Terra I, also known as Monarch. The world is barred from the rest of the corporations and trade by Board law and left to fend for itself.
MSI, the Iconoclasts, SubLight Salvage, a number of Marauders and others of ill repute call this backwater home. A haven for the lawless, will it fall to the Boards' machinations or pull itself back up to rejoin the galactic stage?
And who, by Law, would wan't to live there?

jesus it’s about time someone made an outer worlds lore video, the game is absolutely filled to the brim with rich, deep story and lore and i haven’t seen a single video strictly giving us lore after the game came out rather than old videos of people speculating about the backstory. thanks for making this man, hopefully this is the first in a series of these videos

Outer Worlds is an interesting universe to play in but in reality, corporations are very, very bad at running societies like this. And I don't mean in the Shadowrun dystopian sense, I mean in the "the whole place literally falls apart and either an actual government takes over or a rebellion happens.


For real-world example: The East India company. They fucked it up so hard they made the British Raj look like an immaculate, well oiled, machine in comparison.


Basically, this system shouldn't last for more than a handful of years and I guess it doesn't depending on your choices
