Lack of buttons and tablet control was always a dealbreaker for me.
Here in Germany, Tesla-charging has lost dominance long ago, and is more expensive, with variable pricing. The fact that "Superchargers" are not capable of charging my Hyundai at full speed, does not help.
Elon is a vaporware salesman, the boycott only speeds up the downfall.

We have seen his "genius" with the Cybertruck -- and fact is, that the previous models were mostly engineered by OTHERS.
So he will not make it better, but worse. He is a show-man, a master-sales man, that sells you any FRAUD -- that is ALL.

Still struggle to believe that any car would be allowed on the road where most of the adjustment controls are accessed through a touch screen and software. Seems incredibly dangerous.

As a carguy I’ve never been a fan of tesla. Not because they are electric, but because of the low quality and the need to replace working and proven items by crap. Just to save some money.
My brother used to say they’d like to get a model y, but now they ended up ordering a VW ID.4. Why? First of the leasing companies don’t like it with their pricing being all over (and now they are afraid nobody will want one) so they are more expensive. Secondly people will hate you and companies in Europe don’t want to be associated with musk, so they removed tesla from the approved car list. And the final reason might be the worst for tesla: the competition has caught up and even surpassed them by making better EV’s.

the problem with Teslers is that they have lost their competitive edge as there are now loads of EVs on the market and also the PR disaster of Elon Musk and anti-American sentiment, tariffs etc on top. So the future looks pretty grim to me.

I can't comment on the quality of the car, but the "everyone will hate you" seems likely to get worse as the economy tanks and people blame Musk and Trump.

Personally I am completely turned off by any Tesla products. They were intriguing and somewhat special 10 years ago. They were hardly suitable then, but now they're completely out of place. They brought the button-free cars. We all gave it a go for 10 years and decided it's not for us. They kept it because they have no other tricks

It's downhill. If Tesla can't give what the public wants, the public will look elsewhere. Hype has it's limits.

Growing up in mid-Michigan with everyone working at auto plants, and knowing the long, long history of safety and quality improvements they've gone through, the sheer hubris of some dude building a box and wrapping it in glued-on stainless steel panels is appalling. Hundred years of experience against some geeks. Just appalling.
