Wrexham AFC have announced that award winning architects , Populous will be redesigning the kop stand and making plans for a whole stadium upgrade.

Thanks for the fantastic news!! 1. Gives us an idea of what Michael has been working on since coming on board. 2. With the experience and prestige of a world famous firm, I gather I can read between the lines, that the firm believes it has found a way to deliver a 30-35K design despite the lack of extra space and without having to move away from the sacred grounds. Quite a feat indeed if it all works out. Congrats to Wrexham AFC and to the city of Wrexham.

Promising news! I just purchased a ticket to see West Ham play at the London Stadium. From the videos I have seen on line, the building looks amazing.

Very exciting. How will they fill in the 4 corners. Do they have a plan to develop all for sides. If they do is there a design that has or can be shared with public. Watched my first FA Cup round 4 game in Jan 1974 with my dad in Wrexham lager stand. Great game and win for Wrexham against Jack Charlton's Middlesborough.

This is fantastic news and if they are planning or claiming to be able to get all of the work done by 2026. Which I really hope they can, that would suggest council approval and any land deals with the university are either completed or near being signed. Particularly with an end of current season start date for construction. Just wondering how do they protect the field when they go to a year round event venue? I mean hockey rinks, and baseball and football fields with astroturf I understand, but that is a live grass field at Wrexham, so how it that protected?

I don't think we know the date when work will start. It can be even before end of season considering completion date set.
