Pokemon’s Power Creep Problem.

Competitive Pokemon Singles has slowly been succumbing to the disease known as Power Creep as each generation goes by. Maintaining a reasonable Power level in Singles has become a Herculean task. This sure is non-epic.

I'm having a "Live Wo-Chien Reaction" to all of this great information.

Iron Mugulis is directly involved.

Check out my Showdown Gameplay channel!

Check out the Super Megaphone Podcast featuring JimCool

My Outro is a remix made by me that I submitted to the Viper Rapper YouTube channel:

Some will never figure out how to get Wo-Chien in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. But famous player Jim Cool is well aware of the Best Wo-Chien Moveset in Competitive, and even how to Wo-Chien Shiny Farm. Many aren't and never will be. That's just the unfortunate reality of the world.

Palafin has gone from "Zero to Hero" with regards to the competitive scene. That's just great. Thanks for reading this description. This is the best part of the video, the great description. Only my biggest fans read all this crap.

Could Palafin fit on the best Team Gen 9 Competitive? Yeah

I know that much of the above information is non-relevant to the video at hand, yet I've left it in anyway. You're simply going to have to live with the fact that I've done this.

Game Freak just blew all other online game development schools out of the water with this incredible new 2022 release. You're gonna need to get a game design degree online, and FAST, if you want to make a better game than this. Not even the best strategy games android reddit could hold a candle to this breathtaking Next generation competitive Pokemon experience.

Scream Tail is the Jigglypuff of our wildest dreams. It has been buffed with some higher statistics and the incredible ability, Protosynthesis. Gen 9 Competitive Pokemon wouldn't be the same without this powerful pink blob. He kinda looks like someone I met in one of my game design and development courses.

Gen 9 Pokemon Showdown is one of the greatest online gaming sites in history. From Pikachu and Charizard, to Palafin and Roaring Moon, The new Pokemon games, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, have introduced a lot of new faces. Can I succeed in one of the best android games of all time? If so, I'm gonna get myself a Walmart bakery Pokemon cake to celebrate.

Gholdengo is a Pokemon made of pure gold. He must have done some online business management courses to accumulate all that wealth. Or perhaps he might want to learn how to make money playing video games on YouTube. In any case, he's a powerful metagame force, with absolutely no interest in online game development schools.

I ranked every Starter Pokemon. You won't believe my Incredibly Controversial #1 choice.

I think most of gen 9's power creep issues stem from the fact that they introduced an evolution for Dunsparce, so they had to abruptly buff the rest of the roster in a vain attempt to keep up with his might.

Competitive Pokémon would be much better if there were balance patches every 6 months or something

It is kind of sad to see older Pokémon fall off completely. Nowadays modern Pokémon have broken stat spreads or busted signature moves. It doesn’t help that old legacy moves are gone because of home complications I think

Day ??? 4: Iron Mugulis has returned in a form we have not seen before. Everyone is more scared than before, the government began franticly prepping their military to no avail. All they can hope is for Pawmot to lend his power to revive Great Tusk with enough subscribers. However, there is also another pokemon known as Rabsca that can do the same thing. The government has not trusted me before like the last time with my suggestion of asking for Ursaluna for help, thus I am looking into this myself while gathering subscribers to get Pawmot's help as well.

Power creep so great that Iron Mugulis got a render improvement

Gen 4 as a whole was power creep done right imho. Why? Because it happened in the form of new moves and items that most pokemon could use (most fighting-type mons could learn close combat, most rock-type mons could learn stone edge, and literally everyone could use a life orb or a choice scarf). New evolutions and abilities were used to revitalize old forgotten pokemon, and the phisical/special split opened up a lot of options. Basically what I'm trying to say is that at the time gamefreak didn't just invent 50 new pokemons each one with a unique ability/move, every new thing was available to almost everyone, and if almost everyone gets powered up, then things mostly stay the same. That's why even with all the changes, Gen 4 OU is basically Gen 3 OU plus.

Now compare this with everything from gen 5 onward, where every new OU is so different from the last that it feels like a whole different game, especially with the new gimmicks (Gen 6 tried to fix things with mega-evolutions of old weak mons and the new fairy type but it wasn't enough). Gen 5 is also the generation that introduced scald, a move that could cripple almost every pokemon except for a select few who took super-effective damage from it, and this move was also available to pretty much all water types, which is already one of the most powerful types out there. Once you go in such a direction there's no turning back.

Also I absolute loved the irony of some people getting all angry at hidden power in the older generations, but then completely ignore Terrastalize which has the same problems but multiplied, plus a few more

I feel like they might have a solution to rectify power creep through HOME. Pokemon can get their movesets changed depending on the game they are moved to, and I feel like that in and of itself could be a great solution even if they didn’t make moving pokemon to different games change their stats if power creep get too powerful.

I want you to talk about Frosmoth and Avalugg, who have left their previous home in PU to chill the RU tier alonside Abomasnow and Ceititan.

What sucks is that gamefreak fosters powercreep. They nerf the old fairly balanced mons because they do well in vgc, but if that wasnt enough, most nerfs they do are double nerfs, like dark void being usable only by darkrai and also destroying its accuracy when both was not needed. Removing mechanics of previous gens (namely, megas, as the other ones suck pretty bad) also fosters this, ans i have no doubt they will remove terrastalization too in gen 10 for no reason. Now in gen 9 all mons were blanket nerfed by having all their moves replaced with their level up moves for no real reason. I have some mons that i had to breed in older gens to get them to have a certain move and now all that effort is gone to waste because of gamefreak's terrible decisions and the overbearing powercreep of the game.

Is iron mugulis a sinestea paradox form?

Tera specifically pushes all these ridiculous pokemon over the edge imo. Makes the Gen 9 meta frustratingly unfun for me. Even went back and started exploring gen 1-4 ou just for some simple strategic pokemon battles again

Ive just started playing uu because the meta is far more stable down there.

Honestly I have been enjoying gen 9 OU but that's only post-bans. I don't find kingambit that big of a problem and the metagame is better than SSOU at least.

I'm very worried about home though because a lot of the Hisuian Pokémon are just stupid power level wise

I'm not sure how powercreep is an issue in Smogon when you can just play a different tier if your favorite mons got made irrelevant by the new additions.

Meanwhile, the game is balanced around doubles. We know this. And - go figure - all of these ridiculous broken threats are much more fair in doubles.

It's just a shit game now. Gen 5 might be the last time it was "good".

9 is so far removed from good I can't believe the scene hasn't ditched it.
