12 Worst Towns In The UK

What are the worst towns in the United Kingdom? No, I don’t intend to disparage any town anywhere, and certainly not in the UK. However, I really want to lay things bare as they were! It’s not all the towns in the United Kingdom that are so cool to live in. That’s why those in the know wouldn’t want to live just anywhere in the United Kingdom. By the time I'm through with this list of the 12 worst towns in the UK, you'll see signs that will make you keep a town at arm’s length.
Good enough, these towns are in every part of the United Kingdom, not just one of the four countries. A word of caution here: The listing of the 12 worst towns to live in the UK in this video represents nothing but my personal opinion.

“Well may I ask what you expected to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plain …”

This man doesn't have a clue what he is on about, be interesting to see where he lives

Not sure what the point of this video? He doesn’t even lay out his criteria for making his choices. What does come across is the impressive architecture of several northern towns, and the host’s sneering superiority.

You’ve missed out the biggest shithole of all. London and before anyone thinks that I’m from some part of the country that resents it. I was born and grew up and still live in The London Borough of Camden. It’s probably alright if your a billionaire but for the rest of us. It’s a hell hole

I'm Irish myself and living in Ireland but a few years back my daughter and my granddaughter both moved to Stevenage, my daughter got a job there while it was another country I told myself it's easy to get and I'll be to visit them while I knew my kids would grow up one day you hope they will always be near by at least but I can tell you now that the people in Stevenage were very nice people and were good to our daughter and our granddaughter. In the years they were there in Stevenage I'm very proud to say not once did anyone in Stevenage did anyone ever call them names or give them a hard time for being Irish not once.
In fact quite the opposite I would say so, I found this Stevenage in something like this to be extremely harsh.
So from a Irish gentleman we are very grateful to all the people of Stevenage and we all still keep a eye on Stevenage and the football team as well who when our daughter and our granddaughter were there had a very good youth football academy.

Again thank you all our daughter and grandchildren are now back a few years now and I'm sure you'll all understand we are very happy for that

God bless and take care also please remove Stevenage from list as you're being way to harsh on Stevenage and her people

As a proud citizen of Stoke-on-Trent I am outraged. We are WAY shitter than these amateurs.

I can't agree with you about Halifax. I spend six months of the year there and it's a lovely town with lovely architecture, places to eat and the friendliest of people.

I don't think Halifax should be there but Bradford, Peterborough, Oldham, Walsall, most of Birmingham, most of London, Wolverhampton, Derby, Hull, Leicester, Stoke, Northampton, Scunthorpe, Burnley, Huddersfield, Bolton, Blackburn and Coventry are dire places to live

Bradford has to be the worst city in the UK. It really is a toilet.

I'm sure it's PURE coincidence that most of ( if not all!) of these former British towns have been swamped and taken over by "Overseas visitors and

Click bait. Obviously written by someone who’s first language isn’t English and then read by someone who couldn’t be bothered to make it sound more vernacular or even research the correct pronunciations of all place names (Welwyn is pronounced “Wellin”).
No sources quoted to back up the claims.
Just petty and divisive for the sake of it.
Unfortunately people lap it up.

There are plenty of dreary towns next to you in the Republic of IRELAND . Also, an abundance of poor, run-down towns and cities here in the U.S.A. Also a huge number of poor, crime-ridden cities and towns in Latin-America, India, Pakistan, Africa, continental Europe etc !! SO why does YOU TUBE carry this Britain-HATING " LEARNING CANTEEN " ?! And as for the narrators having English accents --- unfortunately self-hating Englishmen are not uncommon . I am an Italian- American . I counted well over 20 of these anti- Britain episodes of the so-called LEARNING CANTEEN !!

I'm from Blackpool and it's another case of the rich just all taking and no giving, and a bunch of councillors who mostly live in richer nicer areas around outside of the town, all very sad after everything the town has given to millions of this countries people over the years, in the whole Fylde coast there is hardly any industry and since Fleetwood lost its fishing industry it's even grimmer than Blackpool .

I would happily live in any of these places than live in most inner London Borough eg Hackney, Tower Hamlets, etc

Really surprised, Oldham actually has a claim to fame even as one of the worst. You can also go with the high street is almost gone, the football team probably has less than 100 fans, the local council is getting rid of the inside market which is probably one of the only reasons people even go to the town centre. Is it really any surprise we locals have literally no pride in the place.

Torquay, the third worst place to live in the UK? Are you kidding? Have you ever actually ever been here? Apparently not, judging by that back-to-front picture of Meadfoot Beach you included in this debacle! Very amateurish, I'd say. If it's so bad here, why do so many grockles keep coming back here year after year to stay? And why do so many blow-ins move down here and buy up all our houses? Crime rate very scary? You've not been around. Any crime here is often down to certain outsiders who swarm here to live anyway. In fact, to put the town where I was born and raised in this perfidious list indicates that you've not really visited very many places in the UK at all.
But I'll say one good thing. If you hate my hometown so much, at least we'll never see your mush here anytime soon.

I thought he was quoting from something he had read initially. Then realised, nope he wasn't. What an unpleasant video and what a condescending tone. Lazy, stock images too.

You can't have seen many towns in Britain if you haven't seen any worse than these.

I would suggest the 4 collective Medway towns. Gillingham, Chatham, Rochester and Strood. Medway council are turning the towns into one big building site. It's a horrible area to live. If I could afford it, I would have left years ago.
