Agree. Gordon is obviously superior from a technical standpoint, but Nicky is just a back match up stylistically and physical attribute perspective.

Question from a beginner: how bad was the pop on Gordon’s ankle? Like, did he had to get surgery? Did he took some time out of training because of it?

Nicky stalled for OT. He couldn’t get to Gordon’s back without it. I’m not a huge GR fan but that match was boring af due to the stalling for OT. Biggest downside to EBI overtime. Currently ADCC ruleset makes for the most interesting matches to watch.

EBI overtime reduces strategy and overall technical need by a lot which gave Nicky a big advantage. Gordon was probably way more bothered about his foot injury, and with how fast he evolves his game I don’t see it happening again. I think Nicky missed his shot now and it’s going to take a younger faster guy to actually beat Gordon.

2 things here. #1 Did he gain his back in OT or was he started in that position? #2 did Gordon tap from the injury and did he get advanced from being injured?
Let me answer it for you.

He was given his back because of the rule set.

And no he didn’t show any signs of weakness with and injury that happens in jujitsu.

That being said I believe there’s others who have better chance but have NO chance of beating Gordan in a submission only no time limit match.
