One thing I wish the fiber would allow for is the end users to have a sfp NTD if you have the hardware for it like a network rack with a Unfi dream machine pro or se, and secondly, I still don't get why these ISP can provide us with the sip information for the VoIP service so we can use IP phones or ata boxes.

And I do hope fiber will mean a new push for IPv6 with all ISPs on the NBN.

Every time I hear management in security sensitive organisations (pretty much everyone) putting their systems "in the cloud" my heart sinks. Inevitably, when data breaches occur, the organisation loses.
Who needs all those IT people?
We don't understand what they do.
Let’s just trust all the marketing BS and put our data in the hands of poeple we will never meet or know.

I moved the Australia like 7-8 years ago, we had similar internet speeds back then for half the price. Nowadays in Switzerland We speak of Gbit/s you can get 10Gbits for $40. NBN is a total joke and an insulte to Australians. I’ve switched to 5G and it’s better but also 1/3rd of the speed of the 5G in Switzerland

I have the Opticomm network, I'm on 1000 mbit and off peak it's crazy fast, peak times it drops hard and support is brutally sh!t, .. but still for $150 it's good!
