Glen Rose is a town of a few thousand people, located 60 miles from Fort Worth, Texas. It's a popular place for hiking, and it was founded after a gristmill was built next to the river. It's known as the Dinosaur Capital of Texas because a few thousand dinosaur tracks were discovered along the Paluxy river in the 1960's. They preserved the area instead of building on it and created Dinosaur Valley State Park. They recently discovered more tracks in 2006 and some new ones were uncovered in 2022 when a drought lowered the river levels. As a result of the big dinosaur draw to the area, they put a Dinosaur World nearby. It's one of three Dinosaur worlds in the U.S.

The historic downtown square is quaint with some interesting storefronts and a few restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Some notable ones include the Sexton Mill, Love and Amen Coffee Bar (aka Texas Treasures Coffee Bar) and Bull Lion Ranch Winery. Thanks to Blackie's on the Square for having me out to play music.
