Technocratic government or compromise made by parties?

🇫🇷On Monday, French Prime Minister Michel Barnier invoked the controversial constitutional tool Article 49.3 to push through the 2025 social security budget in parliament, triggering a no-confidence vote against him and his government.

🗳️The opposition, led by the New Popular Front, now has 24 hours to propose a motion of no confidence, with the vote potentially taking place as soon as Wednesday. Meanwhile, Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella, leaders of the Rassemblement National, announced that their party would introduce its own no-confidence motion and support similar motions from other parties. Should both parties vote in favor, the government will not survive.

The ongoing chaos in both countries is poised to send shockwaves far beyond their borders
