I'm not a plumber, just a homeowner, but I love this guys videos. When he hit me with that "if you don't get flushed", thats gold.

Id recommend installing a bypass as well. That way in case the filter has a leak. You can turn the water off to the filter with the valves he recommended and keep water flowing to the house.

My girlfriend and I were just talking about the necessity of installing a water filtration when we purchase a home. The chlorine smell from the faucets reeks where we currently reside. I'm definitely coming back to this video down the road. Thank you 👍

thats all fine and dandy but what about flow restriction? how is the water pressure coming out the outlet?

I've got an Omnifilter whole house system and the filter housing has a valve you turn that relieves pressure in the filter chamber and bypasses the filter so you can service the unit without interrupting the water supply, it's quite old but I can still get filters for it and it still works great

Thanks for the video. I have trouble with sediment filters in north Texas countryside that get so muddy you have to replace the filter every week. How will this be different? Thanks again for your videos.

At 06:55 you don't really need to open the vent on top to reliefe pressure. You can just close the incoming valve first and isolate the filter from the main water line. Then you can just go and open a fawcet and let it open until there's no more water cominng out. Then close the fawcet, close the outgoing valve on the filter and job done. No more risk of water splattering everywhere until all the pressure inside the filter discharges.

Best I've seen so far. How much are the filters?

I use a 3 stage iSpring whole house filter system. 4x20” filters. 2 carbon, 1 sediment. Also have a typically salt water softener. Water taste is great, smells all gone. Change the filters once a year. Really like the system. We are on really hard well water but ever since installing the filters, we’ve had zero issues.

Is this installed as water softener replacement or as an addition?

Hey roger I just recently started as a plumber’s helper in a company that does mainly commercial work, do you think I can benefit from your plumbing 101 course. I just want to have an edge and learn faster considering the guys I work with don’t share much info with me. Thanks.

Hey Roger, this is Emma from Uganda and I would like to know whether water from the main line of national water can work on the filter without a pump

after going to many big box stores and other places i sent my folks to furgeson for they bathroom reno. one stop shop. big box stores were useless when they wanted a shower, tub and wand. furgeson knew exactly the diverter valve they needed and the finish stuff to match everything

Plastic fittings? At that price can I get something like brass I don’t have to worry about cracking in a couple years when putting some muscle into removing the top to replace the filter.

Do you install this before your irrigation? I know with softeners you want it after because the salt can harm your plants.

Can this be used with older copper pipes? How would I adapt from copper to this, back to copper?

Always, Thank you Roger. Being independent, sometimes i only have avenues like this to learn about new plumbing components available.
