The window for the world to change and be better is slowly closing. Cities continue to grow, and it accounts for more than 70% of global greenhouse gas emissions. This #UrbanOctober and in the run up to #COP26, how do we envision our cities?

For senior urban development specialist Joris van Etten of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and AASCTF, "a smart and climate resilient city is one where children and adults alike can play and recreate in areas that bring them closer together, and closer to nature." Watch the video to find out more.

This video is the first in a series of videos produced for AASCTF's social media campaign called #SmartIdeas4ResilientCities, which marks two significant events that have been held back to back this 2021: Urban October and COP 26. The theme for this year's Urban October is Climate Action for Cities, a good preamble as any for the world's climate change conference in Glasgow. With this social media campaign, AASCTF hopes to share ideas, visions, and solutions for smart, climate-resilient cities.
