Lattice Stitch: a Knittycat's Knits Tutorial

Video description of knitting the lattice stitch (this stitch is not my own but a standard knitting pattern). The stitch below is knit over a multiple of 6 sts + 2 sts and over a repeat of 8 rows. I have also included details for the scarf shown in the video.

Abbr: C4B=cable 4 back; C4F=cable 4 front; K=knit; P=purl; sl=slip st purlwise; st=stitch; T4B=twist 4 back; T4F=twist 4 front.

Materials for scarf in video: 1 skein (5.3 oz; 150 g) of Lion Brand Mandala yarn, 1 pair US size (5.5 mm) knitting needles, 1 cable needle to match knitting needle size (can range from size 6 [4 mm] to size 10 [6 mm]), tapestry needle.

For the scarf, cast on 38 st with regular needles and knit all st for the next 4 rows. Then follow the lattice st pattern below until work measures about `7.5-8 ft, then knit all st for 4 rows and bind off (note: I kept knitting the scarf until almost all of the skein was used up; you can choose to make the scarf wider and shorter; just adjust the number of st to cast on accordingly, but be sure that the st count is a multiple of 6 sts + 2 more sts added, eg, 26 or 38 or 44, etc)

Lattice Stitch Pattern
Row 1 (wrong side): K3, P4, *K2, P4. Repeat from * to last st, then K1.
Row 2 (right side): P1, C4F, *P2, C4F. Repeat from * to last 3 sts, then P3.
Row 3: Same as Row 1.
Row 4: P3, *K2, T4B. Repeat from * to last 5 sts, then K4, P1.
Row 5: K1, P4, *K2, P4. Repeat from * to last 3 sts, then K3.
Row 6: P3, C4B, *P2, C4B. Repeat from * to last st, then P1.
Row 7: Same as Row 5.
Row 8: P1, K4, *T4F, K2. Repeat from * to last 3 sts, then P3.
Repeat these 8 rows to form the lattice st pattern.
Additional descriptions:
C4B: sl next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, then K next 2 sts from left-hand needle, then K the 2 sts from cable needle.
C4B: sl next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, then K next 2 sts from left-hand needle, then K the 2 sts from cable needle.

It was good watching your video. I'm just learning cable and I didn't know you halve the cable stitches. My pattern says cable 12f all to the end on 1 row! Do I halve them too?
Thanks for showing.
