i am usually a silent viewer overall but i just have to comment that you taught me i have a long torso and short legs.

suddenly my clothes preferences make senses. i always subconsciously like outfits that complement my legs over my top and always hated wearing things that didn't, i didn't know what made me hate them.

Question (I do have long torso/short legs). getting back into sewing.... got a pattern for a dress (Vogue 8805) which uses "color blocking" (3 sections) ....planning to use a small print for top.... darker solid for midsection... and middle of the road textured solid for bottom .... Would love your guidance on this: When I use the 'hand' method of determining short or long torso, I have a short torso. When I use the measurement method (top to crotch (for me 31") & crotch to feet (for me 29") it seems I have a long torso. So which would you say I am? Also, I have a large bust: 32D...so: 105 lbs, 5 feet tall even & 32D bust. So...would high waisted pants work for me because my bust is bigger & heavier? I try to minimize my bust, but it always makes me look heavier than I am & wearing 'fitted' tops draws too much attention to them. I also cannot wear heels because they kill my feet & my lower back and are not practical for my job of being on my feet most days showing houses. Nothing looks good on me & it's very frustrating & discouraging. 😭 Most petite clothing I buy is always too tight on my bust, but too big everywhere else. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

I highly disagree with these. (Open replies for full advice) I have the body type ur talking about.
1. Do not buy one pieces that connect between the legs, aka jumpsuits, minidresses with shorts sawn in
2. Do not buy high waisted dresses, etc. Actually go for low waist dresses. Let me explain: when you wear a dress, it looks the most flattering when it singes at the waist (where there are no ribs). If you have a long torso, chances are regular waists singe too high at the ribs, which is the widest part of your torso. If you go for high waisted, it will singe under the chest, making you look "pregnant". However, if you go for low rise dresses, it will singe right at the waist for longer torso girlies...
