I've been to ten foreign countries, and loathe tourist traps. They're over-priced and crowded. For example, I flew into Cancun, and went South. There, I found some really cool cities along the Yucatan, and they charged Mexican prices, not Gringo prices. I had a great time with real people and real life.

I thought the easiest way to remove people from scenes you want to film is random gunshots. 😄😄😄
