"I'll throw them away like I threw away time on a boy who would trick me to think he was mine" this actually struck me so hard. I think I replayed that bit 10 times.

There's just something so unbelievably beautiful about your lyrics. Like someone's taken some money, some old, vintage velvet and a little fairy dust and melted it 'til it became a magical soup... and then sang it. Beautiful <3

My favorite thing about this video is the emotion you have, especially when you look almost angry. It's not really anger at him so much as it is anger at yourself for still being so affected.

This is exactly what I'm going through right now; I was especially moved by the line "But I’ll throw them away like I threw away time on a boy who had tricked me to think he was mine." It's like you took the words right out of my heart. You helped me find a way today, thank you!

What I love about this song is that for that last line, you could have said something horrible about the boy who did all this. But no, the only sentiments I can feel are that you're glad to be away but are still hoping he'll do well too. Thank you for being the type of person who isn't so vengeful. xx

For those asking for the chords (sorry if someone else has already done it), I'm fairly new to use and I can't quite see her fingers, but I think they are:

Verse 1:
G (x4). B7 (x4). C (x2). D (x2). G (x4).

Verse 2:
G (x4). B7 (x4). C (x2). D (x2). B7 (x4).

Chorus:
Em (x4). Cm (x4). G (x4). Cm (single strum) G (x8)

The second half is pretty much the same except you play G fewer times at the end.

NB. B7's not in the standard position. I think it might be called position 2? I don't really know, I can't play the uke too well.

In all of your free time **not-so-subtle sarcasm** you and Tom should compose a musical together. I would die.

"Satisfied" (Hamilton), "On my Own" (Les Mis.), and this are all swimming in my feel beautifully sad.

This has me in tears. I moved homes recently and the things I'm unpacking from my former long distance boyfriend are sitting there untouched but still there because I can't bear to look at them. This song is describing it perfectly. Thank, you Carrie. x

Anyone else just feeling Burn from Hamilton, but like a really positive version?

This song is perfectly describes my situation right now. 8 months after my boyfriend left me to put his career first, I have only just found the courage to put the trinkets he gave me away in a box. I found a way

This reminds me of Down by Dodie. Especially the ukulele plucking part

Hey Carrie, I just want to say I'm going through a difficult time right now, and whenever I get a notification, you're always a light in my day. Thank you So much!

I just love the lyrics so I thought I would put them in the comments In case anyone wants them also xx

I found your letters today
It hurts just to think I should throw them away
but I know yes I know Yes I know
I’ll find a way

There’s notes that you left in my books
I really should but I just couldn’t look
but I know yes I know yes i know
that I’ll find a way-ay-ay

Although I am over the things you have done
The trinkets you left are like prizes I’ve won
In a strange little game that I never wanted to play
But hey,
I’ll find a way.

Im rather fond of this scarf
you’d wear it all wrong so that you’d make me laugh

All of our sad souvenirs
Have sat out of sight out of mind for these years
But i’ll throw them away like I threw away time
on a boy who had tricked me to think he was mine
coz I’m finally happy with life as it is and he well he
he’ll find a way

Carrie has the voice of a Disney princess. Alluring. Calming. Like story time and tea. I love it.

This is so good. I adored the line - "trinkets you left are like prizes I won in a strange little game that I never wanted to play"
The chord structure of this song is really great too, I felt like it emulated a musical theatre ballad.

Yes. I also have that with CDs. Like music that you had back in the day. When you hear them now it's a funny feeling of memories, embarrassment and "I remember why I played this a lot!"
