Okay Violet singing this in a lower key in the verse and jumping the octave for the chorus is pretty badass. Lauren & I had to raise it 😂

This song has always been important to me. Even to this day most men singing about women in abusive relationships talk about how much better they would treat her. I feel like so few songs actually address the abuser the way this one does. The anger. The way they shame him for how he treats her in the line “do you feel like a man when you push her around? Do you feel better now as she falls to the ground?” And finally the catharsis of “Face down in the dirt, she says this doesn’t hurt. She says I finally had enough!” It gets me every time. Thank you so much for covering this. You’re both absolutely amazing!

I'm actually sobbing so hard right now, this very song was the same song me and my sister would listen to. We lost a bit of connection after sometime, so hearing this after years.. my heart. Truly amazing as usual

I remember how hard this song hit in highschool, then right after graduation, I got an abusive bf and it took on a whole new feeling for me. And hearing it as a 31year old woman, I'm instantly transported back to 18. Such a complicated feeling.

Violet singing reminds me a lot of the vocalist from Nightwish, one of my favourite vocalists of all time. Loved the vibe and sound.

ATV vs MX memories on the PS2...dear god I can see my 6 year old self jumping up and down because he won his first race against his brother. Thanks Jonathan, brought back some good memories!

For me, this song makes me shiver after being abuse by my partner.
All the lyrics are the exact thoughts and situations.
Even today 11 years after, this song remind me where I've been and how strong I become.
With my freedom and amazing love.
So thank you Jonathan.

This song comes from a time when I didn't even understand its meaning, I was merely into it for the kickass beat. Such a throwback, thanks Jon. Really made my day.

Oh, holy crap! Memories ahoy! Haven't heard this since high school, and it was a pretty taste-formative song, for me. Thank you for doing this, and making sure it slapped at *least* as hard as the original!
