I completely understand the global citizen part. I started BJJ at fifty seven and will be retiring with my wife to her native country of Bulgaria in four years when we both retire. As she still maintains her Bulgarian citizenship, along with her American citizenship, our being married for a decade gives both of us EU citizenship as well (after the dreaded paperwork.) For now, I'm focused on learning as much as I can while here in the states so when we travel from place to place in retirement, I can learn from a great many instructors and truly enjoy the totality that BJJ has to offer. Thanks again for all your videos, sir. This old gi-zer greatly appreciates being able to learn from you from a distance.

Just recently, a year ago, started training BJJ again, at 50. I appreciate your channel as it gives me faith that if I stay on the path, enjoying the journey, and being open to learn and grow, I will get better! I’d love to spend the rest of my life training, and maybe one day teaching, BJJ. Thank you… 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

That’s why we do martial arts, to be able to handle stress.

We ran the basic sweeps from closed guard the other day. All is well until you have the big guys pinning your triceps down. Damn well impossible! Until a small angle and omoplata.
