MCPvP YouTubers: Where are They Now?

MCPvP used to be one of the biggest servers in all of Minecraft. With games like hunger games, capture the flag, and maze runner, many people hold fond memories of it to this day. Because MCPvP was so big, many Minecraft YouTubers played on the server regularly such as BadBoyHalo, Jojo ASMR, Rizzo, Bball0928, and Zephhyre. and even more newer YouTubers came from that community, such as Chap, Dream, TheeSizzler, Happyheart, and Spop. So today, I thought I would look at these MCPvP YouTubers answer the question: Where are They Now?

It really is crazy how we all used to be kids in this community, how relatively small the channels were at the time (you can look at the views on BBH’s and rino’s videos now for comparison) and the sheer volume of people that came out of it.

I wonder why this is, maybe because McPvP was one of the first real competitive experiences for a game that was blowing up, so lots of ambitious, competitive people were drawn to it. Maybe because the culture of making videos taught a lot of kids at the time to get editing software and learn how to record. I don’t think we’ll ever know the precise reason for it but I’ll always be proud to call myself an McPvP community member, the sub has a reunion discord and just scrolling through the names is quite nostalgic, id recommend it for anyone who was involved on the server.

I was a pretty avid player on MCPVP. I’m sad it died the way it did. That being said, it was the breeding grounds for the biggest creators in Minecraft at the moment and I’m glad that some of the people I remember and used to talk to made it big.

I used to play mcpvp Hunger Games with GeorgeNotFound (then known as GeorgeeeHD). We used to duel on a server called KitPvP. Even when Brawl bought it out, I remember one summer logigng into the teamspeak and hearing him talking (he was on an alt). I told him that we used to play and that I know it's him but he was jokingly denying (that was him back in the day - an extreme troll). One of my friends on hyperpvp (a copy of mcpvp) called Deextra later became a friend of Stimpy and appeared in one of his videos I think. I've got lots of these small memories too bad nobody has made a copy of mcpvp or mcteams - even 10 years later I think it's one of the funest things to do in Minecraft.

Great video and presentation, I used to play mcpvp when I was like 11 and 12. Used to be an insane minecraft pvper and at the time all I had was a laptop and a trackpad haha. Those were the days man, great times.

Mcpvp definitely marked a part of my youth.. I made several friends which I cultivate to this day outside of the internet, watched the hype of great content creators and still was able to compete face to face with the best players of that time even playing on an old notebook here in Brazil.
Great times that will never come back.

in late 2011 a friend sent me a vid of a minecraft server by a small youtuber saying "should we play this server? looks good?". it was classic mcpvp spawnfighting and the youtuber was just some kid who sounded like he had a mouth full of saliva screaming while fighting people, but it was entertaining nonetheless. the video had like 500 views on a channel with 300 subs or someth. i subbed to him and logged onto the server the next day, even saw his username in the server and went around hunting for him at spawn hoping i might get into his vid. anyway i played the server like nonstop for 2 years, hg server didnt exist when i started, hunger games was something they did as an event now and then before they released it as a full gamemode. that kids youtube channel grew too but not by much, he might have went up to a few thousand, eventually left to make his own minecraft server and kept growing his channel on there. i held the record for most kills in 1 game on hg for a long time

anyway that kid was leafy

mcpvp really was a hell of a place to be, i still have to come down memory lane every couple years or so.
