Decency from the South to the North. 👏 Fantastic. Arabella sounds like a true lady helping wounded soldiers. Frank was one fortunate man. Thanks This Date.

This would make a beautiful movie. Showing how human we all are no matter what our differences are, were rooting for her to find him. And they have a life together after the war. I'd pay to see that.

Arabella Barlow is actually well known and documented as one of the first nurses to be allowed by both sides to treat their wounded... But to learn more about her you have to do the research I remember reading about her by accident.

People don't need war, just good people.

John B. Gordon was one bad dude. Wounded numerous times, his wife would stay with him on the front lines. After the War he was Gov. of Georgia. A great American.

Within the foolishness of leadership, "the Spirit of Christ" hath abounded throughout history....even today.

General Gordon was also wounded at the sunken road at Antietam, he was wonded several times, the one that finally knocked out of the fight was in his face under his eye, in the picture of them, you can see Gordon's wound, when he fell his cap fell over his face covering it, the filled with blood and he would have drowned but I pullet knocked a hole in the kepi, he wasn't expected to live, but like Barlow he was a strong willed man, both of them were considered political generals, neither were regular army officers, but both become some the best😮😢😢😢

This is what makes civil war especially heinous: neighbor fighting neighbor, brother killing brother. Remove the manufactured reason for these two men to try killing the other and they are friends rather than enemies.
